Who we are
This website is operated by Victoria Sutton, trading as Techno Victoria ("we," "us," "our"). You can contact us at hello@technovictoria.com.
We are the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy.
What we collect, and why
If you sign up for the newsletter or free download: your email address, and your name if you provide it. Used to send the newsletter and the requested download, and nothing else, unless you separately opt in elsewhere. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
If you use the contact form (Work With Me or general contact): your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message. Used only to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries sent to us.
If you buy something from the shop: your name, delivery/collection details, and order information. Payment is handled directly by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order).
If you browse the site generally: basic analytics data (pages visited, approximate location from IP address, device/browser type) via Squarespace's built-in analytics. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
If you click an affiliate link: the retailer (e.g. Temu) may set its own tracking cookie once you leave this site. That's covered by their privacy policy, not ours — see the Cookie Policy for more on this.
Who we share it with
We use third-party services to run this site, each of which processes data on our behalf: Squarespace (hosting, forms, store, analytics, email campaigns), Google (email), and Stripe (payment processor). These providers may store data on servers outside the UK/EEA; where they do, they provide their own safeguards (Squarespace and Google both maintain standard contractual clauses for this). We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe. Contact form enquiries: 12 months, unless we need to keep it longer for a specific reason. Order/purchase data: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (typically 6 years under UK law).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data, correct it if it's wrong, delete it, restrict how we use it, or move it elsewhere. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@technovictoria.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 without appropriate consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally; the "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent version.
